Final Fantasy Versus XIII Trailer Audio
February 16, 2008
Since both games are high profile games, Wada does not know whether it would be good business to release two huge games in such a short time frame, so at this point he is undecided.
However the fact that he says that he is undecided about it, implies that it would be possible to release it this year, so maybe the game's development is further along than we have previously been told.

"(...) from the new Yoko Shimomura CD, Drammatica. The track is labeled as "Versus Theme", but we still have no information indicating it's the official theme of the game."
Soul, the webmaster of Forever-Fantasy sent me the track early, and I don't recognize it as any other Final Fantasy tune I've ever heard, so chances are this is actually a tune from Final Fantasy Versus XIII, here's hoping.
UPDATE: Welp, looks like it's a fake, false alarm, sorry guys and gals.

"The new CD features music from Kingdom Hearts, Front Mission, Secret of Mana and as a bonus Yoko Shimomura decided to include several bonus tracks from her current on-going project Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which should give us an early preview on the game's OST.
The CD is scheduled for release in Japan on March 26, 2008 for Yen ?3,000, which translates to approx. US$ 28."

FF13: An excerpt from an article in this week's magazine: 'Thoughts determined, times have matured."
- Nomura: "2008 will be the year. There will be tons of news bits, info on characters and summons, and an unexpected connection between the keywords Cocoon and Farushi.
- We're aiming for a demo to give players a hands on on the battle system.
- FF13's theme: determination.
- Farushi: Their existence surpasses humans.
- Rushi: Those chosen by Farushi to carry out a mission. The pigtail girl is a Rushi. Farushi is not the Crystal.
- Mr. 33cm is also a Rushi.
- This time summons are in digital form.
- A new monster that looks like a cross between a turtle and elephant.
- The red thing on Carbuncle's head is a ruby.
- Hint on release date: "I wonder when we'll be able to sleep..."

"Cocoon's government is using crystals with the power to change man's destiny to force those on Pulse to work against their will. In turn, the citizens of Pulse are rebelling. Their force is led by the only confirmed character so far, a feisty woman who goes by the codename of 'Lightning'.
Apparently the player won't know if he's (Note: I presume by "he" they are talking about Mr. 33cm) on Lightning's side or not until a certain point in the game. One new feature to help develop the story will be a 'split-screen' of sorts, showing different characters in different locations on screen at the same time."
Basically, Lightning is heading up a rebellion fueled by the people of Pulse and the poor treatment they've gotten from the Government of Cocoon. As for the split screen, this will probably be for cut scenes as having a window to other characters on your screen while in battle or running around doesn't particularly make much sense.
