Square-Enix Filed for Final Fantasy Agito Trademark

May 25, 2013

According to Hokanko blog, Square-Enix has filed for a trademark Final Fantasy Agito. As many of you can remember, the original name for Final Fantasy Type-0 used to be Final Fantasy Agito XIII. Could it mean there is some movement going on with the game since the PSP version never got localized? Possibly. It could also mean Square-Enix is working on some sort of a spin-off or  just protecting the name in case they will decide to use it one day. Only time will tell what the real reason for this truly is.

Haerasis XIII has never existed and recorded. It was a rumors.
I hope it is for PSVITA.

Yeah, and Haerasis XIII. But I like to think my optimism and rough understanding of how a company like SQE works helps me overlook such dark thoughts and cling onto hope. Still, as you said, it could be nothing.

@AnimaManga- That name is trademarked in Japan so it doesn't necessary mean an English release. It could work for a new product, though, such as a port or spin-off or just a general name for the series if they are planning to make a sequel. SE have registered names in the past before that they have never used such as Chrono Break.

It could be something to do with an English release. This wouldn't be the only game that's given two different names in two different regions. Why would they want to protect the name if they wouldn't use it anyway? I take this as a sign of hope. Maybe a home console HD re-release?
